Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols to the patients admitted to the Emergency Department and throughout the facility as necessaryAssesses, plans, and evaluates patient care needsAdministers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signsCarries out physician orders and clarifies, educates, and instructs patients and families of the orders as neededMonitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systemsAssesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare teamMaintains skills and knowledge of various medical devices including, but not limited to, cardiac monitors, vital signs machines, defibrillators, IV pumps, rapid infusers, Bair Huggers, and patient gurneysRequired LicensesMust have current and valid Wyoming RN License or equivalent compactRequired SkillsCurrent BLS Certification through American Heart AssociationACLS and PALS current or within 90 days of hire or transfer, or approved extension of an additional 90 days from the department director and CNO.
NRP current or within 1 year of initial hire or transferENCP or TNCC completion within 1 year of initial hire or transferHandle with Care training within first 30 days of employmentWork Experience2 years of Emergency Room experience preferred Recommended Skills Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Basic Life Support Electrocardiography Medical Emergency Medical Material Nursing Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
