Surgery Scheduling Coordinator
The OR Unit Coordinator performs specific clerical duties and other non-nursing duties associated with Surgical Services.
The Unit Coordinator is responsible for effectively performing clerical and record keeping duties, using proper telephone etiquette, communicating well with other departments and orders supplies appropriately when needed.
EducationHigh school graduate or GED preferredAssociates degree in a related field preferredWork Experience2 years executive secretarial experience preferredRequired SkillsCurrent BLS Certification through American Heart Association or within 90 days of hireStrong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load and to multi-taskAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionFlexibility and willingness to adjust to changing work priorities and tasksAbility to work within a team concept, providing support to other team membersAbility to keep a confidenceStrong communication skills and ability to communicate to all levels of managmentMust have excellent computer skillsAble to read and interpret medical terms, physician orders and other documentsMust be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, physicians, patients, and families Recommended Skills Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Basic Life Support Communication Coordinating Medical Terminology Multitasking Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
